Direct Patient Care for Hospitality Workers

Our concierge medicine program is designed specifically for restaurants, bars, and hospitality businesses. Instead of relying on traditional insurance for everyday health needs, owners pay a simple monthly subscription per employee. In return, their team gets 24/7 access to a physician who understands the unique challenges of hospitality work.

Advantages for Employers

  • Healthier Teams – Quick treatment for common illnesses and injuries means fewer sick days and faster return to work.

  • Predictable Costs – A flat monthly fee per employee makes budgeting simple and avoids surprise medical bills.

  • Improved Retention – Employees value health benefits that cover them when they need it most, increasing loyalty and reducing turnover.

Advantages for Employees

  • Easy Access to Care – 24/7 availability by phone, virtual visits, or in-office appointments.

  • Coverage for Common Issues – Illnesses, job-related injuries, and routine care are included in the employer-sponsored subscription.

  • Low-Cost Extras – Optional services like IV hydration, wound care, lab testing, and common medications are available at cost, with no markups.

  • Trusted Relationship – Employees know they have a doctor who understands their needs and industry pressures.

The Bottom Line
Direct patient care gives hospitality workers the medical support they need and gives employers peace of mind knowing their teams are cared for—leading to healthier staff, smoother operations, and stronger businesses.

How does this service benefit my business?

Your staff will get quick treatment for illnesses and injuries. This will lead to fewer sick days and call-outs. Your employees will know that you care allowing you to  increase loyalty and reduce turnover.

How is the service billed?

Services are billed  monthly at a flat rate per employee. Costs are predictable. The only add-on costs are any procedures (such as laceration repair, wound care) or any diagnostic work up related to an on-the-job injury.

Can I choose how many employees to cover?

We recommend you cover ALL of your employees as this is meant to benefit your business as a whole. Picking and choosing certain employees can lead to some feeling left out or undervalued and defeats the purpose. We want all your employees to be happy, healthy, and productive as possible.

What kind of care is included in the subscription?

All routine medical care is covered. Phone, virtual, and in-person visits are covered for a variety of medical issues.  On-the-job injuries are also covered by your employer...laceration repair, wound care, on-site evaluations, x-rays.

How do employees schedule visits?

Employees will have direct access to the physician via cell phone. Phone calls and virtual visits will then be conducted on a secure HIPPA compliant platform. In person visits can also be scheduled and will take place at 5 Star's office in South Tampa.

What if I get sick or injured outside of work?

All routine illnesses are covered. Off-the job injuries will also be evaluated as part of your coverage. If any procedures need to be done (such as laceration repair, splints or wound care etc) these low cost extras will be payed by the employee.

Are lab tests and x-rays included?

Labs and x-rays are NOT covered (unless an injury occurs at work). Blood work will be ordered typically from LabCorp or Quest as they provide the best cash-pay prices. X-rays can be ordered at any outpatient imaging center of your choice such as BayCare, TGH, or Akumin. We will be able to provide some very low cost routine in office testing for COVID/Flu, Upreg, Urinalysis for infection, and Strep.

Will I have to go to a pharmacy for medication?

Your medication will be called in to the pharmacy of your choice. We will have some very low cost medications available in our office. These include some common antibiotics, cold medication, steroids, anti-inflammatories, and anti-emetics.

Is the concierge service meant to replace health insurance?

This is not insurance. This is a direct care membership that coves a wide range of routine and urgent medical services. You may still want health insurance for hospitalizations, surgeries, specialist care, and medical emergencies.
